THURSTON'S 22 LEADS BOBCATS PAST HAMILTON, 68-44

CLINTON, N.Y. - Junior forward Jolene Thurston (Post Mills, Vt.) went for a season-high 22 points as the Bates College Bobcats (13-1) defeated the Hamilton College Continentals (1-13), 68-44, on the road.

The Bobcats, who led 33-17 at halftime, shot 35.3 percent from the floor, but held the Continentals to 29.2 percent. Thurston had six rebounds to go along with her 22 points, which came on 11 of 18 shooting from the floor. Classmate Emily King (Lebanon, N.H.) nearly recorded her first career triple-double, with 10 points, a game-high 12 rebounds and a career-high nine steals. Bates picked up the victory despite losing senior co-captain Colleen McCrave (Walpole, Mass.) to an ankle injury in the first half. All 12 Bobcats who got into the game scored points. Bates has now won 16 straight games against NESCAC opponents.
