VOLLEYBALL DOWNS UMF, 3-0

FARMINGTON, Maine - The Bates College volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over the host University of Maine-Farmington tonight in the Bobcats' first single match of the season. Senior MH Lisa Dulude (Wellesley, Mass.) led the way with 12 kills and four service aces. Senior outside hitter Lauren Fennessey (Joplin, Mo.) and first-year OH Olivia Zurek (Arlington, Mass.) each added eight kills. The two also combined for nine aces. Junior co-captain Katie Burke (Canton, Mass.) had six aces, while first-year setter Kristen Johnson (Denver, Colo.) had 25 assists. The Bobcats see their first home action this weekend in a NESCAC weekend when they host Bowdoin, Colby, Connecticut College, Trinity and Wesleyan.
