BOBCATS DROP HOME NESCAC EAST OPENERS
Tufts completes 8-0, 5-2 sweep

LEWISTON, Maine — The Tufts University softball team improved to 6-0 in NESCAC East today with a pair of wins over the host Bates College Bobcats. The Jumbos clinched the Division title with wins of 8-0 and 5-2.

Jumbo senior SS Jen Mackey (Swampscott, Mass.) went 5-7 with three runs scored, three doubles and one RBI in the doubleheader. Senior 1B Tiffany Trahan (Chelmsford, Mass.) and junior C Lis Drake (Chelmsford, Mass.) each hit two-run home runs in the DH, their fifth and seventh HR respectively. Tufts allowed only one batter past second base in 8-0 first game.

Bates sophomore C Cami Dyson (Arvada, Colo.) went 3-5 in the twinbill with an RBI, while junior 1B Carla Flaherty (Gorham, Maine) had the other Bates RBI on a single.
