FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRICE, EASTER NAMED BATES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK LEWISTON, Maine - Sophomore field hockey player Julia Price of Mansfield, Mass., and sophomore cross country runner Justin Easter of Jay, Maine, have been named Bates College Athletes of the Week for the period ending Oct. 1. Price led the Bates field hockey team to a 2-0 week and a 5-3 record overall. She scored her first goal of the season and the seventh of her career in a 3-0 win over Gordon College Sept. 28. On, Oct. 1, Bates defeated New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe Tufts University, 2-1, in Medford, Mass., thanks to a goal and an assist by Price in the span of three minutes. With the Bobcats trailing, 1-0, at halftime, Price assisted a goal by junior Sarah Weatherbee of Walpole, Mass., with 30:48 on the clock. Price then scored the game-winner at 28:03. She now leads the team with eight points this season (2-4-8). Running at the Bates Invitational, Easter recorded his second career cross country win.
