D'ADDARIO NAMED MEN'S LACROSSE PRE-SEASON ALL-AMERICAN
LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College sophomore attack Mike
D'Addario of Locust Valley, N.Y., has earned pre-season
honorable mention All-America honors from College Lacrosse USA.
D'Addario had a record-setting rookie season for the Bobcats in
1997. He established Bates records with nine goals in a game April 15 vs.
Maine Maritime and 59 goals in a season. D'Addario was ranked seventh in
NCAA Division III men's lacrosse with a 3.93 goals-per-game average.
D'Addario is one of just six sophomores named to the College Lacrosse USA
All-America teams.
"With an improved supporting cast this season, Mike should be even
better," Bates head coach Al Brown said.
Bates finished 1997 ranked ninth in New England Division III with
a 9-6 record in Brown's second season. The Bobcats open the 1998 campaign
against Division II Wingate University on Feb. 21 on their annual southern
trip. Their first game in New England comes on March 15 against Trinity
College in Springfield, Mass.
D'Addario is a 1996 graduate of Friends Academy. He is the son of
