MEN'S TRACK WINS SECOND MEET IN A ROW AT TUFTS MEDFORD, Mass. -- For the second week in a row, the Bates College men's track and field team emerged victorious, topping 16 teams at the Tufts University Invitational. Junior Lucas Adams (Nottingham, N.H.) continued his fine season, capturing the hammer and discus throws while placing third in the shot put. Classmate Mike Danahy (So. Windsor) made a bid at his third national championship of the 1998-99 season by qualifying provisionally in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:55. Senior John Cullinan (Yonkers, N.Y.) took second in the 10,000-meter with a time of 23:08, a whopping 1:21 better than his previous personal best.
