Husky Invitational SAWLER, HURLEY QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS BOSTON, Mass. The men's track team did not waste any time qualifying two individuals for the NCAA championships at Northeastern's Husky Invitational Dec. 1. Both senior Jaime Sawler (Stratham, N.H.) and classmate Greg Hurley (Arlington, Mass.) are on pace to return to the championships for the second year in a row in the 35-pound weight throw. Sawler placed second in the event with a heave of 53-6 1/2, while Hurley's best toss was 51-2 1/4. The are second and third in the nation after the season's first meet. First-year runner Andrius Staisiunas (Panevezys, Lithuania) also had an impressive showing against DI and II competition, placing second in the mile run with a time of 4:21.15, second only to a runner from the University of Vermont. Junior captain Stephen Gresham (Milton, Mass.) took fifth in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:06.36, narrowly missing the school record in his first-ever attempt at the event.
