BATES MEN'S SOCCER DOWNS UNE, 1-0, ON TRICKETT GOAL

Senior forward Eric Trickett (Windham, N.H.) scored his fifth goal in as many games to give the Bobcats a 1-0 victory over the University of New England Nor'Easters.

Trickett's goal came in the 71st minute. Junior Andy Apstein (Waban, Mass.) picked up his second assist of the season, while goalkeeper Brian Anton (Boca Raton, Fla.) had six saves to pick up his third shutout of the season and the Bobcats' fourth overall. Bates is now 7-4 on the season and rated eighth in the most recent NSCAA New England Div. III poll, while UNE drops to 4-10-1 with their seventh straight loss.
