Wenham, Mass. -- The Bates College Bobcats (3-2) held their opponents scoreless for the second straight game, defeated the Gordon College Fighting Scots (4-5-1), 4-0. The Bobcats got two assists each from first-year forward Drew Weymouth (Holden, Mass.) and senior tri-captain Eric Trickett (Windham, N.H.). Trickett and junior forward Andy Apstein (Waban, Mass.) got the scoring started just over 11 minutes into the game when Apstein knocked a rebound of a Trickett shot home for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Weymouth got his first collegiate point when senior midfielder Chad LaFauci (North Andover, Mass.) converted a volley from 25 yards out for his first goals of the season. Senior forward Ted Martin (Excelsior, Minn.) scored his second tally of the season in the second half, as did sophomore back Walter Shicko (Rocky Hill, Conn.).

Bates goalkeepers Brian Anton (Boca Raton, Fla.) and first-year Dan Spector (Framingham, Mass.) combined to make five saves in the win. Gordon keeper Brian Brown had seven saves in the losing effort. Bates outshot the Scots, 20-11.
