BATES MEN'S LAX DROPS 11-5 DECISION TO WESLEYAN MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Bates College men's lacrosse team (4-3) fell into a 5-0 hole early and was never able to recover, dropping an 11-5 decision to Wesleyan University (3-2). Trailing 10-2 in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats started a comeback effort, scoring three goals in a two minute span in the fourth quarter to close the lead to 10-5, but were unable to keep the momentum. Junior goalkeeper David Pillsbury (Gill, Mass.) entered the game just over seven minutes in and made 16 saves, several of them coming from point-blank range. Bates scorers were led by junior Jon Miller (Canton, Mass.), who had two goals, while sophomore midfielder Dylan Cruess (Concord, N.H.) and first-year attacker Jack Sandler (Hicksville, N.Y.) each had a goal and an assist.
