LEWISTON, Maine — Bates junior M Jeff Critchlow (Carlisle, Mass.) scored 18 seconds into overtime to give Bates a 12-11 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's lacrosse victory over the visiting Tufts University Jumbos today. Critchlow led all scorers with four goals and tied for game-high honors with five points as the Bobcats improved to 7-4 overall and 3-3 in the NESCAC.

Tufts (6-5, 3-4 NESCAC) led 10-4 after three quarters and was up 11-6 on senior M Jack Palmer's (Vestal, N.Y.) unassisted goal with 5:40 left in regulation. Senior Jack Sandler (Hicksville, N.Y.) added two goals and two assist for the Bobcats.

Jumbo rookie attack Bryan Griffin (West Islip, N.Y.) had three goals and two assists to match Critchlow for game-high point honors. Tufts senior goalkeeper Kirk Lutwyler (Ridgewood, N.J.) made 16 saves in net.
