BATES UNABLE TO HOLD OFF MT. IDA, 87-81

PAXTON, Mass. -- In the consolation game of the Anna Maria College Invitational, the Bates College Bobcats (3-3) dropped an 87-81 decision to the Mt. Ida College Mustangs (5-3).

Sophomore Alex Wilson (Duxbury, Mass.) led the Bobcats with 22 points and nine rebounds, earning All-Tournament honors. Three other Bobcats scored in double figures, with sophomore Billy Hart (Haverhill, Mass.) pitching in 15 points, including three 3-pointers, while Ed Walker (Roxbury, Mass.) had 14 points. Mt. Ida was led by Alaster Spiers' 26 points and nine rebounds. The Mustangs's bench outscored Bates', 18-11, the margin of victory. The Bobcats next face Bowdoin in Brunswick on Wednesday.
