BATES GOLF TOPS UMF BY TWO STROKE

LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College golf team won their second meet of the season on their home course, defeating State of Maine champion Maine-Farmington by two strokes, 432-434.

Senior Nick Brunero (West Warwick, R.I.) led the way for the Bobcats, shooting 83, while teammates Sam Kieley (Edina, Minn.), Dave Vensel (Watertown, Conn.), Jeff Berg (Beverly, Mass.) and Dan Snow (Scarborough, Maine) all shot in the 80's, using their familiarity witht the Springbrook Golf Course to their advantage. The Bobcats are 3-0 at Springbrook this season, having defeated Bowdoin and Colby there earlier in the week.
