In the first game, Thomas scored 7 runs in the first inning (5 unearned) and hung on to win, 8-5. Thomas DH Darren Goeke (Rockland, Maine) hit a 3-run HR with one out in the big inning, followed by a strikeout and five straight batters reaching base on seeing-eye and bloop hits. Bates pitcher Chris Snow (Tewksbury, Mass.) settled down to allow just 3 hits after the first inning, striking out seven batters (7 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 3 ER, 8 K, 1 BB, 2 HBP, 2 HR). Junior thirdbaseman Scott McAuliffe (Concord, N.H.) was 2 for 4 with 2 runs, 1 RBI, and a triple. The Terrier added a late insurance run when a line drive which bounced over the fence was ruled a home run by the umpire. Sophomore centerfielder Austin Philbin (Clinton, Mass.) was ejected for arguing the call.

In the second game, Bates batted around in the second inning to take an 8-1 lead. Sophomore rightfielder Jason Coulie (Manchester, N.H.) was the hitting star in the game, reaching base in all four plate appearances, going 3-3 with a walk, 4 runs scored, a stolen base, a triple and a home run, his fourth on the season, tying him for the team lead. Sophomore CF Austin Philbin (Clinton, Mass.), senior LF Mike Voelker (Coventry, R.I.) and sophomore C Frost Hubbard (East Walpole, Mass.) each had two RBI. Senior pitcher Dan Chisholm pitched his second straight compelte game for the win. The Bobcats have now hit 14 home runs this season, the most since they hit 20 in 1990.
