After coming off a split with the Beavers of the University of Maine Farmington the Bobcats travelled to Beverly, Mass. to take on the host Endicott Power Gulls. Senior Chris Snow (Tewksbury, Mass.) took the mound for the sixth time this season with a three run lead after the Bobcats jumped out in the top of the first inning. Endicott would tie the game in the fourth scoring two runs after having scored one in the third. With the game tied at 3-3 in the seventh sophomore Jason Coulie (Manchester, N.H.) took a 1-2 pitch deep for his fifth home run of the season. Snow retired the side in order in the bottom of seventh on a grounder to short and two fly balls to right field. With the win Snow improved to 2-3, while the Bobcats improved to 6-9.
In game two of the double header first-year Andy Stanton (Great Bend, Pa.) made his collegiate debut for the Bobcats. Stanton had control of the game from the first pitch as he had the luxury of sitting on thirteen Bobcat runs as Bates pounded out fourteen hits including four triples and an inside the park home run by Coulie. Senior left fielder Mike Voelker (Coventry, R.I.) finished the day with two triples, a double, and two RBI. Sophomore first baseman Drew Blicharz (Rutland, Vt.) finished with a double and two singles good for two RBI. Stanton allowed only two runs before he tired in the bottom of the seventh giving up six runs on five hits and a walk. With the 13-8 victory Stanton is now 1-0 while the Bobcats are 7-9 heading into Tuesday's game with rival Bowdoin College.
