TRINITY DRUBS BATES IN NESCAC DOUBLEHEADER

HARTFORD, Conn. (Taken from a Trinity College press release) -- Senior 1B Matt Pound (Santa Fe, N.M.) broke up a no-hitter with two outs in the top of the seventh inning of game one of doubleheader against the fourth-ranked team in New England, the Trinity College Bantams. Trinity swept the doubleheader, 19-0 and 19-1, on the power of five home runs, including three from sophomore Kurt Piantek. Piantek hit two in the first game and one in the second as the Bantams improved to 17-1, 5-0 in NESCAC East play, on the season, while the Bobcats dropped to 0-10, 0-4 in conference action.
