Baseball (7-14) Splits CBB Crown Three Ways

Coach Bob Flynn's baseball team finished with a 7-14 record. Two of those wins came at home against Bowdoin and ECAC qualifier Colby, giving them a one-third share of the CBB title. Junior pitcher Chris Snow (Tewksbury, Mass.) threw a pair of complete games against the CBB opponents. He threw a five-hitter against Bowdoin as the Bobcats won 2-1. Against Colby amid flurries, Snow won 9-6, behind home runs by senior designated hitter Jeff Barricelli (Beverly, Mass.) and first-year centerfielder Austin Philbin (Clinton, Mass.). Unfortunately, they dropped their final eight games to finish 7-13, missing doubling their win total from the previous season by one game. Junior outfielder Brandi Richards (Kingfield, Maine) led the team in hitting (.359), RBI (17), runs scored (16) and doubles (7), while sophomore pitcher Becki Gasior (Park Ridge, N.J.) had five wins and a 3.49 ERA.
