Next Reunion in 2000. James Ash is a guidance counselor at Westwood (Mass.) High School. He and several classmates had a fantastic time and mini-reunion at David Hazlett's wedding last September.... Tim and Jennifer Yakey-Ault now live in Windsor, Conn. Tim is a sales coordinator for New England Bakery Distributors and Jennifer is finishing her master's degree at Springfield College.... Margie Austell has earned her real-estate license. She and husband Frank Barbieri '87 live in Arizona.... Jennifer Beggs Van Belle and husband Ron, both at London Business School, recently had a visit from Karen Andersen.... Sarah and Michael Bell live in Japan, where he works for the Bankers Trust of New York.... Cathy Boosales still lives in the Poconos and manages a Polo Ralph Lauren factory store.... Tina Brickley, still working for Digital Output magazine in Atlanta, attended Traci LaRosa's wedding last fall.... Emily Brown completed her master's degree in counseling psychology at Lesley College last spring.... She keeps in touch with Peter and Cathy Meoni Lucas in San Francisco and Kristin Stockmayer in Boston.... Laura Hillier is the director of health promotion for the Charles County Department of Health in Maryland.... Living in Portland, Ore., Lauren Holden is the European advertising manager for Nike. She, Maria Kourebanas, and Leslie Spencer-Wellott decided to "just do it" and ran the New York Marathon together this past year.... Richard Hollis has earned his J.D. from Drake Univ. Moving to sunny San Diego, Stephanie Mairs still practices real estate and environmental law.... Shawn Moran is in Tokyo, where he is a securities broker and vice president of Diana Securities America.... James Ash and Jeff Cook '89 were groomsmen at Spencer Ordway's wedding and were recruiting for his family-run camp up and down the East Coast this past winter.... In Boston, Marjorie Patterson is an acquisitions editor in the trade and reference division at Houghton Mifflin Co. Her husband, Moncrieff Cochran, is athletic director and teacher at Thompson Island-Outward Bound, also in Boston.... Daniel '88 and Anne Pettigrew Woodruff live in Alaska, where she is a nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit.... At the christening of Paul II, son of Paul and Kim Rodick Guardino, were Jamie Maloney and Beth Blanchard Soule.... She has completed her M.Ed at the Univ. of New Hampshire.... Drawing on his experience with Bates TV, Craig Shibley is now a TV news reporter in Anchorage, Alaska.... Christopher Sokoloski has finished his master's in art history at the Univ. of Massachusetts/ Amherst. He then began formal training as an art conservator. High School, his alma mater. He is also the boys' varsity basketball coach.... In Kansas City, Paul Cooper works at the Federal Reserve Bank there. He also plays a lot of golf.... Newell Cotton spent last spring studying Arabic in Fez, Morocco, living with an extended Moroccan family in a homestay arrangement. Last September, Greg and Paige Furniss Guidotti moved into their new home in Fairfield, Conn, "keeping busy" with night classes and working.... After this next year of course work in anthropology, John MacDougall will return to Bali, Indonesia, for his dissertation research. After a year in Guatemala working on girls' education programs in the eastern rain forest, Melissa Prodis came home to prepare for her GRE, then expected to return in January 1997 to study midwifery and herbal medicine with indigenous midwives in the highlands.... Last February Paula Redes published her first book, Irish Love Poems, an illustrated anthology she compiled. She still works as an editor, "truly a labor of love."... Next Reunion in 1999. At the Culver Academies, Brooke Belcher teaches English and aerobics. At the Indiana school, she is a faculty sponsor of Choices, a student group that examines issues and decisions teens face today.... Steve Ciciotte works at Jackson Lab in Bar Harbor.... Back in Boston, Mike Coggins is ready to start work as a researcher.... In Center Conway, N.H., Kate Drummond works on the ambulance crew and has nearly completed her paramedic certification.... In her job with a biomedical research company in Madison, Wis., Naomi Fields travels a lot.... Kirsten Geisel lives in Boxford, Mass., working at a physical therapy clinic and riding horses.... In Old Saybrook, Conn., Marci Gendreau works as a researcher for a pharmaceutical company. She enjoyed a trip to Utah last year.... In Boulder, Colo., Ed Goldin works at EMS.... Evan Halper and Barney Beal were last seen traveling the country and planning to write a guide book.... Stacey Keegan still works in San Francisco.... Next Reunion in 2002. In an e-mail to the College in January, Ari Friedlaender writes that he's living in Wilmington, N.C., and working for the Univ. of North Carolina at Wilmington and the National Marine Fisheries Service. He is also employed as a fisheries observer to monitor and report on the commercial fishing activities in North Carolina and human interaction with marine mammals. "I am on the beach, on the water, or in the air more days than not," he writes. "I respond to strandings and perform necropsies from one to three times a week. North Carolina is a high-profile area for stranded marine mammals for a couple of reasons: there's a local population of bottlenose dolphins that strands -- often as a result of human interaction -- and the outer banks of North Carolina stick out into the Atlantic, and some whale species that would otherwise not reach land strand out there." Ari would enjoy talking to anyone who is interested or has questions about marine mammals.... Since last August, Kristin Gagne has been a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Southwest. Volunteers in social service agencies throughout Arizona and California, they work in domestic violence and homeless shelters, schools, medical clinics, AIDS ministries, refugee services, legal clinics, food banks and job placement....Karen LeComte writes from the Univ. of Vermont Medical School that all is going well. She would love to meet other Batesies "out there." Jennifer Webber '92 also is in the Medical School there.... And right there in Vermont, Nathan Webb is with Potter Simon Pearce in Quechee. Emily (Woodside) works in Woodstock as a marketing assistant at the Jewish Lights Publishing Co.
