Next Reunion in 2000. Over-the-hill hiker Lib MacGregor Crooker extended her mountaineering experience when she spent a week last June as a volunteer at the Mount Washington Weather Observatory. "My biggest adventure of the year," she says, "was cooking for the observers." The non-profit organization reports weather conditions and tests equipment for Mount Everest climbers and others. "It was great fun living up there for a week. I'm going again in November." More than 70 people joined in the dedication of "Charlie's Bridge," built on the Bearcamp River Trail that runs from Sandwich to Tamworth, New Hampshire. Dedicated to the late Charlie Crooker, an inveterate climber who had worked on the trail, the bridge crosses the river where the water runs high in the spring. Friends and family joined in poetry, song, and a picnic lunch after traversing the new bridge.... We all share the sorrow of Cassie Poshkus McIntire whose husband, Merton, died in May. Cassie attended Reunion with her brother, Al Poshkus '36.
