Next Reunion in 2000. In his busy law practice Roscoe Fales has three associates and nine secretary-paralegals....Retired in Florida, Ellie Feinsot Menkart still does some tax work and the books for her daughter's restaurant in Christian Bay, Virginia. Husband George does consulting around the country....In Hong Kong, Dwight Harvie has been appointed director and general manager of Tanner Menzies, Ltd., a regional executive research firm. On a June trip with his daughter, Ayoko, he visited Bates and met in Boston with Harry Meline, and in Boothbay with daughter Lisa '83 and family, and had lunch with Jonas Klein....Another recent retiree, Helen Hendrickson Woodward has had time to travel to Europe in the past two years. She and husband Charles are volunteers one day a week at Waterbury Hospital, and "Chris" serves on a number of boards....Bill Hobbs returned to the Island of Iona, a very inviting place of quiet and solitude in Scotland, for the third time, on a mini-pilgrimage....The Lairds now set the priorities for their retirement years. Carolann (McKesson) does aerobics and quilting, while Bill does weight training and is restoring a 1931 Model A Ford. Gardening, visiting children, Elderhostel, and church work fill their days....Dick Liebe continues his summer field programs at Wesleyan University, where he has worked with earth science teachers for twenty-five years. He has reduced his work load to teaching only in the fall for a couple of years. He and Jan (Truesdail `56) have bought a retirement home on Lake Keuka....Harry Meline's harmonies headquarters is no more. Since it closed, he plans to travel, and the Boarding Cat Farm still "putts" along. (Shouldn't that be "purrs"?!)...Our sincere condolences to Gordon Peaco on the April death of June (Johnson). We enjoyed having them at Reunion, and June will be very much missed....Walt Reuling is provost and dean of Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, where "the folks are friendly and the waitresses call you `Honey.'" He and Margie (Terani `57) plan to retire to Vermont in a couple of years "where it is cold and expensive and cluttered up now with `flatlanders' like us."...Math Wizardry for Kids, co-authored by Phyllis Sawyer Williams and Margaret Kenda, is in its second printing. Phyl supervises some master's degree students at the University of Maine and has a small counseling practice....Although he still practices law in Ann Arbor, Michigan, John Toomey manages to return to Maine almost every year....Looking forward to a full year sabbatical, Dick Weber still enjoys teaching. He says they may have to "use the hook" to drag him offstage....Trustee Lynn Willsey played golf in Scotland, then he and Beverly (Hayne '55) headed for three weeks in Australia and New Zealand with Al '53 and Gail Molander Goddard '56.

Next Reunion in 1997. Classmates of Peter and Eleanor Peck Rekemeyer want them to know that they are in our thoughts. Their son, Steven, lost his life June 1 in a work-related rafting accident in Colorado. He also leaves a brother, a sister, and his fiancee.
