"One huge attraction for me was that Bates has never had a Greek Life, and we have always admitted students from any background. Everything on campus is open to everyone, including our running programs. I need to mention, too, the people. When I came for an overnight, I saw many friendly faces. To my sheer amazement, when I started here, the atmosphere was the same. Everyone on campus is very friendly and helpful. The XC and Track Team are no exception.

The people on the XC and Track Teams are all very nice guys. We joke, have fun, hang out together, and are often best of friends. The bonds and friendships are strong and lasting. They make everyone on the Team feel connected to it. I think anyone will be hard-pressed to find such a great group who are coached by such great coaches as the athletes on the XC and Track Teams."
