Nuts about sports?
Go to a different sporting event each week and cover the action. Interview the players. Delay the game if you have to. Be impartial, or have an opinion. It's up to you. But watch yourself: Your readers can respond instantly and they may not agree. You just can't throw punches online like you can in the stands... But you sure can have a good argument.

Want to apply?

1. Get your writing samples
Gather together any of your materials that represent your abilities. Sports writing that has been published is best, but other content can also be submitted.

If your material has never been published in any context, we still encourage you to apply. Try a short sports writeup of a game you just saw and submit it.

2. Create a bio
No pressure here. We're not about judgment. Just want to know what you're all about. Include things like your background and what activities you participate in at Bates or elsewhere.

3. Make contact
Send your writing samples, and your bio to: atbateseditor@hotmail.com. All written material must be in plain text. The deadline for submissions is March 15th, 2000.
