Why work for @Bates?

You want to get heard
@Bates an original interactive environment for the Bates community. It's a unique combination of journalism and discussion. Every site feature, article, and editorial will be individually open for reader participation and feedback. As a writer for @Bates, you're the one who starts it all off. Not everyone's going to agree with you, but that's where the fun starts.

It's brand new and different
Hey, you get to say you helped found an online media publication. You can help determine the path @Bates will take. Besides, employers are looking for people who are self-starters and tech-savvy. Your work will be carefully archived on the web so it's a great way to build a highly visible portfolio.

You don't like meetings
Well, neither do we. That's why we don't have any. @Bates staff members are encouraged to keep an open flow of communication through email, phone, or impromptu discussions. We recognize that you've got a busy schedule and that one more meeting is not something you're hoping to add to your "to-do" list.
