Frye Street:
The houses closest to campus (closest to College Street) are the houses with ramps. Although these houses are accessible, that does not mean that the bathrooms are. The only house on Frye Street that had accessible bathrooms was The Ronj. The Ronj’s bathrooms were great by the standards on the PISSAR checklist. However, The Ronj’s bathrooms were not gender neutral like all of the other houses on Frye Street. All of the bathrooms in all of the houses, including The Office of Career Services, were unmarked, gender neutral.
College Street:
Many of the houses on College Street weren’t accessible. Nash House and Security were good exceptions to this rule. Nash House is not only accessible by ramp, but is the only campus house that students live in that has an accessible bathroom. Security’s building and bathroom were both accessible as well. All bathrooms in College Street houses were unmarked, gender neutral.
Campus Avenue:
There are many non-student-housing houses on this street, such as Admissions and the Alumni House. All of the houses on this street, including the student housing, were wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms were all gender neutral as well. Many of the buildings on this street had very accessible bathrooms with handrails and raised toilets. The Health Center had a wheelchair accessible elevator running from the first to second floors, however the third floor was not accessible.
Wood Street:
The only accessible building on Wood Street is the Harward Center - none of the student housing is accessible. All bathrooms were gender neutral.
