LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College first-year linebacker Frost Hubbard of East Walpole, Mass., has been named New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) football Rookie of the Week for the week of Oct. 21 for his performance Oct. 19 at Middlebury College.

Though the Bobcats lost to Middlebury, 31-19, Hubbard was instrumental in shutting down the Panthers offense in the second half. He recorded 16 tackles, five of them solo and one for a loss. In the second half, the Bates defense held Middlebury to just 43 yards of total offense, forced four turnovers and stopped three fourth down conversion attempts.
