Brady Named NESCAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College junior attack Tim Brady of Manchester, Mass., has been named New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week of April 7.

Brady had an outstanding week as the Bobcats went 2-0, defeating Maine Maritime Academy, 16-5, and Wesleyan University, 8-6. At Maine Maritime on April 3, Brady scored seven goals, falling just one short of the school record. Then, in the Bobcats' first home contest of the season, against Wesleyan, Brady netted four more goals. His first goal tied the game at two with 56 seconds left in the first quarter, while his second gave Bates its first lead of the game, 3-2, 2:20 into the second. Brady's third goal with 31 seconds remaining in the first half put the Bobcats up 6-4, a lead they would never relinquish. Brady's final goal of the day, 5:33 into the second half, put the Bobcats up 7-5. Bates' defense stifled Wesleyan from there, allowing the Cardinals just one more goal. The win marked the Bobcats' first against a NESCAC opponent since 1990, and their first versus Wesleyan since 1987.

Brady now leads the team with 17 goals and is third on the squad with 19 points. The Bobcats, under first-year head coach Al Brown, have a 4-3 record this season.

Brady is a 1993 graduate of Tabor Academy. He is the son of James and Adella Brady of 365 Summer St., Manchester.
