Bates Men's Indoor Track Ranked 16th Nationally
LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College Men's Indoor Track team finished the 1995- 96 season ranked 16th in the NCAA Division III poll released on Tuesday. The rankings are based on a system of power ratings which take into account a team's top two performances in each different event over the course of the season. Only events which are contested at the NCAA Championships are counted towards the rating.
"This reflects the overall strength of the program, because it rewards both quality and depth," Bates first-year head coach Al Fereshetain said. "Every single member of this team contributed to this and all of their effort over the course of the season really paid off. It is a big boost to the program."
