Bates College NCAA Skiing Championship Results

LEWISTON, Maine -- Five Bates College athletes competed this weekend in the NCAA Skiing National Championships at Bozeman, Mont.

The Bobcats finished 14th overall and sixth among New England schools. For the alpine team, junior Kina Pickett finished 29th in the slalom with a two-run time of 145.58 seconds and finished 24th with a combined time of 107.66 seconds in the giant slalom. Junior Sean Clark was disqualified from the slalom competition and finished 32nd in the giant slalom with a combined time of 118.36 seconds.

For the nordic team, junior Katie Gould finished 17th overall and third among New England skiers in the 5-kilometer freestyle race with a time of 17:32.6, and 35th in the 15-kilometer classic race in 56:19.6. Sophomore David Chamberlain finished 23rd in the 20-kilometer classic with a time of 1:05:34, while classmate Justin Freeman finished 36th with a time of 1:09:02. In the 10-kilometer freestyle race Chamberlain finished finished 16th in 29:41.1 while teammate Freeman finished 17th in 29:50.1.
