Myrick Qualifies For Nationals In 1500-Meter Run
LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College first-year student Adelia Myrick of Kodiak, Alaska, has qualified provisionally for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 1500-meter run. The meet will be held March 8-9 at Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
Myrick qualified Feb. 10 in the State of Maine Meet held at Bowdoin College, where she ran a 4:47.26. She finished second in the 1500-meter race and third in the 800-meter race in the meet for the Bobcats, who finished third at the meet.
Myrick was the top runner on the first Bates cross-country team ever to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the fall season. She earned All-State, All- NESCAC and All-New England honors and led Bates to a surprise third place finish in the NCAA New England Cross Country Championship meet.
Myrick is a 1995 graduate of Kodiak High School. She is the daughter of Chris and Betsy Myrick.
