DETERMINATION OF THE CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET

Mr. MUSKIE. Mr. President, I ask the Chair to lay before the Senate a message from the House of Representatives on House Concurrent Resolution 218.

The PRESIDING OFFICER (Mr. PACKWOOD) laid before the Senate a message from the House of Representatives announcing its disagreement to the amendment of the Senate to the concurrent resolution (H. Con. Res. 218) setting forth, on an aggregate basis only, the congressional budget for the U.S. Government for the fiscal year 1976 and requesting a conference with the Senate on the disagreeing votes of the two Houses thereon.

Mr. MUSKIE. I move that the Senate insist upon its amendment and agree to the request of the House for a conference on the disagreeing votes of the two Houses thereon, and that the Chair be authorized to appoint the conferees on the part of the Senate.

The motion was agreed to; and the Presiding Officer appointed Messrs. MUSKIE, MAGNUSON, MOSS, MONDALE, HOLLINGS, CRANSTON, BELLMON, DOLE, BEALL, and DOMENICI conferees on the part of the Senate.
