DISPOSITION OF PERSONAL ESTATES OF CERTAIN VETERANS


Mr. MUSKIE. Mr. President, I introduce for appropriate reference, on behalf of myself and Senators MORSE and ROBERTSON, a bill to provide for disposition of the personal estates of veterans dying intestate, without heirs. I ask unanimous consent that the bill lie on the table for 1 week, for the benefit of Senators who may wish their names added as cosponsors of the bill.

The bill (S. 3502) to provide for the disposition of the personal estates of veterans dying intestate and without heirs in Veterans' Administration facilities in accordance with State law; providing for reimbursement to the United States for costs incurred in caring for, treating and maintaining such veterans, and for related purposes, introduced by Mr. MUSKIE for himself and other Senators was received, read twice by its title and referred to the Committee on Labor and Public Welfare.


FACILITATION OF DISCOVERY AND RECOVERY BY THE STATES OF CERTAIN UNCLAIMED PERSONAL PROPERTY


Mr. MUSKIE.Mr. President, I introduce for appropriate reference, on behalf of Senator ROBERTSON and myself, a bill which would facilitate the discovery and recovery by the States of unclaimed personal property in the custody of Federal agencies.


I ask unanimous consent that the bill lie on the table for 1 week, for the benefit of Senators who may wish to have their names added as cosponsors.
