Historical Note

The first library space at Bates College was in Hathorn Hall, which held all administrative and academic offices of the college for some time. The first dedicated library building was Coram Library, built in 1902. Coram served as the college's library until the opening of Ladd Library in 1973.

This collection contains records pertaining to the activities and administration of Ladd Library at Bates College. The records contain correspondence and memoranda, publications, reports, and other files. The records have not yet been processed.
