All personal web development can be done with Dreamweaver or any other tool you are comfortable with. Personal web pages can be hosted from a public_html directory created in your abacus account, with permissions set to allow others to view the directory.

The URL of a page hosted from your abacus account will be: www.bates.edu/~yourAbacusID
      For example, hpotter would have the following URL: http://www.bates.edu/~hpotter

Each directory in a website must have one file named index.htm or index.html for tshe browser to locate first, or the contents of the directory will be displayed instead of a web page.
