Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to all new students and their families and to our
returning students. The information on our web site is current for students coming to Bates in Fall, 2009. We have tried to include all the information you will need to make an informed decision regarding your purchase of a computer for the fall.
Bates College has programs with Dell and Apple that provide academic pricing for Bates students. Bates also has an agreement with eAcademy for students to purchase Microsoft Office, also at an academic discount. Details on each of these programs is available at this site.
In order to access the network, Bates requires that a computer's anti-virus software and operating system are current.
Sophos Anti-virus is available to all Bates students at
no charge and we provide full support for Sophos. Limited
support is available for other anti-virus programs. For
more information, please refer to the FAQ’s.
