ILS: NETWORK >SECURE FILE TRANSPORT PROTOCOL (SFTP)

For security reasons Secure File Transport Protocol (SFTP) has replaced FTP as the supported method of file transfer. SFTP provides a secure method of moving files between the user's computer and the remote computer or server.

1) Why would I transfer files between machines with SFTP?
SFTP is used to securely connect your computer to another computer or server for the purpose of transferring files. It is most often used with Unix servers.

2) How do I access a remote machine with SFTP?
Install: Win or Mac
Settings: Win or Mac
