FACULTY WORKSHOPS: AUGUST 2007

Information & Library Services has planned a series of faculty workshops for the second half of August. The workshops range from the practical to the informational: full details appear below.

Improvements to Ladd's online catalog (Laura Juraska)

A tour of the recently re-designed online catalog, including links to valuable resources.

Introducing RSS Feeds (Chris Schiff)
2.00PM – 3.30PM, Tuesday, Aug 21. Ladd BI Room

This sessions will introduce users to a range of RSS feeds that provide updated information and details about new books and journal articles.

Introduction to Lyceum (Ellen Anderson),
10.30AM – 12.00PM, Wednesday, Aug 22. Coram 110

This workshop is intended for any one who is interested in using Lyceum (http://lyceum.bates.edu) during the academic year. Lyceum will eventually replace WebCT and like WebCT it allows instructors to develop and deliver digital course materials on the web.

Lyceum Open Support Session
2.00PM – 3.30PM, Wednesday, Aug 22. Coram 110

This session is intended for anyone who intends to use Lyceum in the fall. During the session, you will be able to consult with ATS staff who will help you set up your course(s) in Lyceum.

RefWorks, RefShare & Endnote (LaVerne Winn)

An introduction to the bibliographical resources available to campus users.

Introduction to Creating and Editing Digital Video and Audio
2.00PM – 3.30PM, Thursday, Aug 23. Pettigrew 121

An introduction to the resources and equipment available to develop digital media for teaching and learning. There will also be an opportunity to view recent video projects developed by faculty and students.
