macromedia

Macromedia Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG web development tool that creates clean, cross-platform html code that runs well on different browsers.

Dreamweaver combines visual layout tools with text based coding to provide a complete environment for web development. Once you've specified the site definition, Dreamweaver can even take care of uploading your files to your public directory, and setting the permissions correctly for others to view your new web site.

At Bates College, Dreamweaver is the recommended tool for creating personal web pages, student organization sites, or class related web based materials.

Download all of the Dreamweaver PDF documents at once, or pick a step and get a PDF:

Set up your personal web directory

Use site management to connect your local work files to your web directory

Set up your page, with background, text and link colors and a title

Add text and image elements to your page

Create links to other web pages

Use tables to organize your layout and information

Test your local pages and then publish them to the WWW
