Peaks Island photographer, Arthur Fink, has a passion for dance. For the last six summers he has spent several weeks photographing dancers at the Festival. These stunning and provocative images capture the dancers at work -- warming up, taking class and rehearsing. Included are images of the acclaimed artists-in-residence.

Using choreographic language that ranges from sensuous and delicate to severe and propulsive, “Garden” draws on primitive issues of origination, collective identity and safety amid the uncontrollable natural world.

The witty and kinetic Keigwin + Company return to the Festival with five Maine premieres including a new male quartet, “Natural Selection”, “Triptych”, “Trio” with music by Adam Crystal, and a new solo by Mr. Keigwin. Integrating everyday gestures and pop-culture references, Keigwin's accessible yet ambitious work has won him a lot of fans in the dance world.

An informal showcase of over 20 new dances created by students during the Festival. Designed to include critical feedback from faculty members, the afternoon promises to be informative for both the audience and the performers. Audience members are welcome to come and go throughout the afternoon.
