Directions To Bates College Arriving by car?
The College is located approximately three miles from Maine Turnpike Exit 80 (Lewiston Exit). Northbound travelers: take Exit 80 and turn left onto Alfred A. Plourde Parkway at the stop sign at the end of the off ramp. Southbound travelers: take Exit 80 and bear right onto Plourde Parkway. Continue on Plourde straight to stoplight at intersection of Plourde and Pleasant; continue on Plourde .6 miles to stoplight at Webster Street. Turn left onto Webster and travel 1 mile to stoplight at Farwell Street. Turn right onto Farwell and follow .6 miles to stoplight. Continue straight across intersection onto Russell Street through first stop light. The campus will be on your left.
To reach Alumni Gym: (130 Central Ave.) take a left at the second stoplight onto Central Avenue. Alumni Gym is on the right near the end of the block. Parking for Alumni Gymnasium is located on Central and Campus avenues. To reach Olin Art Center: (75 Russell St.) turn left after passing Central Avenue onto Bardwell Street--the art center is on your right. Parking for the Olin Arts Center is located on Bardwell Street and in the lot adjacent to the Residential Village complex. To reach Schaeffer Theatre: (305 College St.) continue on Russell Street to the third stoplight; turn left onto College Street; take your first left and continue down behind the theatre into the parking area. Additional parking is available on College Street, adjacent to the building.
