Since the early 1970s, the Bates College Concert Series has offered an attractive mix of music and performance styles.  This year is no exception, as the Series brings classical, international, and jazz performances to campus. All members of the Bates community and the general public are invited to attend.


Inon Barnatan

Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan, still in his 20s, has built a flourishing reputation worldwide. Praised for his poetic and passionate music-making, Barnatan has been described as a "refined, searching, and unfailingly communicative" artist (London's Evening Standard). His performance will feature a program of sonatas by Haydn, Barber, and Schubert.

Its name meaning "intense togetherness," Gamelan Galak Tika is New England's foremost Balinese gamelan. Based at MIT, Galak Tika performs traditional and modern Balinese music and dance, and develops innovative, genre-defying works.

Kelly Kaduce and Lee Gregory

Soprano Kelly Kaduce and baritone Lee Gregory are rising stars in the opera world and in concerts and recitals throughout the U.S. Gregory is known for a rich voice and wide repertoire; Kaduce for elegant, seemingly effortless singing and superb acting skills. This rare opportunity will include a fascinating range of selections from the solo song repertoire and some of the most beloved arias and duets from the opera stage.

The Holmes Brothers mix Saturday night’s roadhouse rhythms with the  gospel fervor of church on Sunday. Layering country and pop onto a  foundation of blues and gospel, they "are juke-joint vets with a  brazenly borderless view of American music" (Entertainment Weekly).
