Since the early 1970s, the Bates College Concert Series has offered an attractive mix of music and performance styles.  This year is no exception, as the Series brings classical, international, and jazz performances to campus. All members of the Bates community and the general public are invited to attend.


Andy Statman Trio

Led by Statman on clarinet and mandolin, the trio will perform a concert of Chassidic, klezmer, and American roots music. Statman is joined by bassist Jim Whitney and percussionist Larry Eagle.

These world-class musicians, wrote a New Yorker critic, are "remarkable not simply for the quality of their music making . . . but for the joy they take in the act of connection." With a program of Beethoven, Mozart and Shostakovich.

This up-and-coming young classical guitarist performs music by South American composers including Máximo Diego Pujol, Adolfo Luna, Jorge Morel, Jorge Cardoso, Augustine Barrios and Antonio Lauro.
