I'm not sure where these come from or exactly what they do. But there's one each for the President, the Dean of Students, the Trustees, and the Faculty. Each academic year, each class elects one new member, who serves until leaving Bates. A student chair is selected from the student members of each committee, and each chair (or his/her designee) is a member of the Executive Council.
