Updated content coming...

Thesis and grad school applications got in my way since November, and since this is an entirely voluntary position, it got moved to the back burner. I'll update the site with the missing information over the next week.

Got code?

I'm graduating in May, so I'll be needing to find and train a new webmaster. The details of the transition haven't been worked out, but please let me know of your interest, unofficially. The site is made in raw XHTML/CSS (no Dreamweaver) and some javascripts thrown in, so it's actually not as hard as you might think.

It's 2008!

If you are a new First Year or a returning student, please take a look at the information provided here. We are striving to make this site a useful and current resource for students about who we are, how we can help you, and how you can get involved.

As for the website, I have stripped the website-wrapping around the Legislation and Minutes PDF files. Although the wrapping was a nice touch, if I do say so myself, having to add a new one and modify it for each bill and meeting we had was much still too detailed to update easily, and it made updating universal parts of the site increasingly cumbersome as more pages were added. I've also made an under-the-hood change to the two menus, which allows me to modify all of the pages from a single universal file. With these changes, maintaining the site will be easier than ever before.

As always, suggestions and comments are welcome.

Update: E-mail addresses on this site will now be sans-domain. This is in an effort to prevent spam-bots from harvesting e-mail addresses from this site. So just add "@bates.edu" before you send an e-mail.
