Preventing Sexual Violence
- Do Not Have Sex With Someone Against His/Her Will.
- Respect the fact that each person has the right to consent, no matter
where he/she is, how he/she is dressed, what he/she is doing. Also realize
that a person has the right to withdraw consent at any time.
- Realize that No means No. Listen to and respect what your partner says.
Do not act based on assumptions. If you are not sure, do not have sex with
that person.
- Understand that the use of alcohol and other drugs may impair a
person's ability to give consent. It can also impair your ability to
accurately "read signals" and assess the intentions of your partner.
