Statistics in the crime categories below represent criminal activity officially reported to Bates College Security and Campus Safety as defined by the National Incident-Based Reporting System Edition of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program, and as required under the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended by the Student Right-to-Know and CAMPUS SECURITY ACT (public laws 101-542, 102-26, 102-325, and 103-208). amended 1992 and 1998, renamed the "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Campus Statistics Act."

Burglary

05-25-05 - A resident of Roger Williams Hall reported to Security and Campus Safety that $35.00 in cash was missing from his room. The cash was taken from his wallet, which was left on top of his bureau. The room was left unlocked.

05-25-05 - A resident of Roger Williams Hall reported that $100.00 in cash was missing from his wallet, which was left on top of his bureau. The room was left unlocked.


Theft

05-22-05 - A resident of Roger Williams Hall reported to Security and Campus Safety that her credit card was stolen from her wallet while she was in the Rand Hall lounge. While reporting the theft of her credit card, the bank advised the student that the card was used at two Lewiston and Auburn businesses. Officers were able to determine who used the credit card and restitution was made to the student. The incident was referred to the Dean of Students.


Criminal Trespass

05-30-05 - A Lewiston resident was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning during Midnight Madness.


Liquor Policy Violations

05-23-05 - A resident of Wentworth Adams Hall was referred to the Dean of Students Office for violation of the College Liquor Policy.

05-23-05 - Two students were referred to the Dean of Students Office for violation of the College Liquor Policy. The incident took place in Commons.

05-25-05 - Two resident of Page Hall were referred to the Dean of Students Office for violation of the College Liquor Policy.


Neighborhood Complaint

05-27-05 - The Lewiston Police responded to the corner of Oak and Elm Streets for a neighborhood complaint. Due to the complaint, the Officer from the Lewiston Police Department arrested two students and a visitor.
