Statistics in the crime categories below represent criminal activity officially reported to Bates College Security and Campus Safety as defined by the National Incident-Based Reporting System Edition of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program, and as required under the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended by the Student Right-to-Know and CAMPUS SECURITY ACT (public laws 101-542, 102-26, 102-325, and 103-208). amended 1992 and 1998, renamed the "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Campus Statistics Act."

Theft

2-14-06 - A student reported that her Apple I-Pod was taken from the Davis Fitness Center in Underhill Arena. The value of the I-Pod is $400.00.


Narcotics Laws Violation

2-14-06 - Four students were referred to the Dean of Students for violation of State Narcotics Laws. The incident took place inside Herrick House.


Liquor Laws Violation

2-12-06 - A student was referred to the Dean of Students for violation of the State Liquor Laws. The incident took place in front of Wilson House.

2-16-06 - Two students were referred to the Dean of Students for violation of the State Liquor Laws inside Hedge Hall.


Criminal Mischief/Dorm Damage

2-12-06 - The Lewiston Fire Department responded to Wilson House after a pull station was activated on the second floor. Also damaged on the second floor was a student's door to their room. The student who was responsible for both the incidents was arrested by the Lewiston Police Department.

2-14-06 - It was reported that a "large person size hole" was found in the back hallway wall on the first floor of Small House. A student, who was observed causing the hole, admitted to the damage when Security spoke to him.

2-15-06 - Residents of Parker Hall reported that three window panes in the fourth floor men's bathroom were broken.


Neighborhood Complaint

2-12-06 - Security and Campus Safety responded to 125 Wood Street after receiving a complaint about the loud noise coming from the apartment.
