WHAT: It includes only high-quality white paper, such as copy paper, computer paper and letterhead.
Mixed paper
WHAT: Mixed paper includes the following: white and colored paper (photocopy, notebook, card stock, etc.), flyers, brochures, manila folders, envelopes, junk mail, cards, postcards, calenders, drink boxes (juice, soymilk), wrapping paper, all paperboard boxes (shoe boxes, cereal boxes, clean frozen food boxes, tubes from paper towels, wrapping paper, etc.), as well as milk and egg cartons. HOW: Place in appropriate labeled blue bins. Staples are OK, but please remove paper clips.
No. 2 plastic
WHAT: Must say No. 2 plastic on the container. Includes milk jugs, as well as many shampoo and cleaning product containers.
Tins
WHAT: Tin cans for cat food, tuna and most canned foods.
WHAT: All glass bottles that cannot be returned for deposit.
WHAT: Metals from construction projects or from appliances, tools, etc.
WHAT: Scrap wood.
WHAT: All drink containers with a ME 5-cent refund label, including beer, wine, juice, water, soda; plastic, glass, aluminum containers.
WHAT: Newsprint and magazines, including directories and glossy papers.
WHAT: Corrugated cardboard, the kind with the wavy layer sandwiched between two flat layers. Pizza boxes must be clean and grease free. We are working with local Pizza establishments to have them include a layer of wax paper to protect the box, so they are always grease free.
