The Ninth Annual Off-Campus Study Photo Exhibit
Thursday, April 2 to Friday, April 17
Pettengill Atrium

Have you studied off-campus at some point during your storied Bates career? Did you take any photographs while off-campus? Are you interested in 14 days of fame? If you can reply "yes" to all of the above, then you may

submit a photo to the Ninth Annual Off-Campus Study Photo Exhibit.

Don't be shy!!! We are looking for geographic and subject diversity, color and b&w, point&shooters and photo artistes. Pictures in which you are visible are particularly welcome, as are pictures that highlight the academic and the immersion aspects of your study abroad experience.  Conversely, please avoid pictures which run the risk of promoting cultural voyeurism and imperialism, or which are really tacky.

Exhibit Details:
The exhibit will consist of 40+ photos chosen from among the entries by an extraordinarily compassionate jury of your peers. The photos will be enlarged and matted (we pay for this). At the conclusion of the show, the enlarged and matted photos will be returned to the submitters. There will be an official Opening Reception in the Pettengill Atrium on Thursday, April 2.

Deadline for submission is Friday, February 27.

  • To maximize enlargement quality: digital photos only; recommended minimum size: 3MG; image resolution: 1600x1200.
  • One entry per person
  • Please submit the image and the entry form via email to: ddas@bates.edu
  • The entry form and guidelines are available on the Photo Exhibit Entry Form and also at the Off-Campus Study Office.
  • Questions??? Contact David Das.
