| The Off-Campus Study Office oversees off-campus
study at Bates. The
variety of academic disciplines, the different methods of study,
and the experience of living in a different culture can enhance
a student's academic career and personal development. Each year, approximately 60% of the Bates junior class studies abroad or on an affiliated program in the United States. Smaller numbers
of first year students, sophomores, and seniors study
off campus. These pages are designed to inform students about
the College's off-campus study options, the College's policies
and procedures, and many of the issues that should be considered
when evaluating this important part of the Bates curriculum. |
