Not just a painter, Grace Knowlton is also a highly regarded sculptor and photographer, though all her works capture a similar abstract sense. Knowlton earned her B.A. from Smith College in 1954, and since that time has gone on to take part in numerous group exhibitions and more than 30 solo exhibitions.

Knowlton's works can be found in the collections of 20 museums and institutions.
